Frederick and Isabel visit Lyme Regis

6 May 2018

Day Two of our Lyme Regis stay brought lots more sunshine and fun activities. We polished fossils, visited fossil stalls, the marquee, Natural History Museum outpost and other exhibitors, a fossil shop, saw the museum and had more ice cream on the beach! We were so lucky with the weather and had a lovely short break.

We had a fantastic fossil walk with geologists Paddy and Tom from Lyme Regis Museum. They taught us how to find fossilised ammonites and other sea creatures lying amongst the stones, and broke open some promising larger rocks too. Isabel couldn’t believe that all this was allowed on a World Heritage Site! The weather was glorious sunshine too!
For the bank holiday weekend we are off to Lyme Regis for the Fossil Festival! We is Isabel, Frederick, Jane and Philip. The Bryans have been to Lyme Regis and the Fossil Festival lots of times before, but this is the first time for Isabel!
