Frederick and Isabel at Perran Sands

25 August 2018

On our final morning we were lucky to be able to pack up a dry tent and leave it and our big bags with Reception whilst we earned our final arcade tickets and exchanged them for a few little prizes (a frisbee, playing cards and little tractor). Then it was time to head to the train station and home after our lovely short break.

On our final night we joined in the Family Bingo (which has become so technical and computerised it knows which ticket has won and when!), saw the Greedy and Ned characters do a show, saw some silly Funstar antics, and a soulful music act. The candy floss machine was finally in operation too!
During the daytime on Day 3 we further developed our archery skills (this time with more laid-back tutor Liam), and went on the beautiful beach. We also had a air rifle target shooting lesson, again with Liam.

In the evening we saw a science and illusion show and went for another fun swimming session, but this time using special hand-held turbine engines that pulled us through the water! We used them to glide through hoops underwater in a race against other participants. We then watched more musical acts in the club to round off the evening.
We started our first full day as we meant to go on, full of activity! After exploring our temporary sand dune home a little more, we had our first archery session (with trainer Rhys), played adventure golf and went on a wildlife walk with the ranger. We also had a go at fencing with a trainer called Liam. Isabel was ok at defence, but rubbish at attack! We also went swimming.

Today we travelled to Perran Sands Holiday Park in Cornwall. We arrived by train and got a taxi to the park with all of our camping luggage! We put our tent up in the sunshine, had Papa John’s Pizza for dinner and enjoyed two evening shows ‘Aladdin Goes Pop’ and ‘The Mad Hatters Two’. On our way back to the tent a badger crossed our path! It was a very busy start to our short break!
