Steve's ultra-lux 50th birthday adventure

27 August 2017

On the drive home.....before exiting the reserve. Shame!!! Still no leopard.
The game drive passengers.....
Spotted wild dogs having just made the chase on worthogs. They caught a baby one and shredded it for breakfast. Gross.....but rare to see them in action.
Hyena waiting on the lions leftovers. Lions eating buffalo and a black backed jackel photo bombing the lions 😉

Evening dinner. Poor Isla was so sleepy she could hardly stay awake. The hotel made a birthday cake for Steve so u had to waken her for the cake.
Lion spotting on way back to the lodge. Driver went off road in to the middle of the bush/rough to find them
Evening game drive
At Etali water hole again
Isla and Connor were taken out for a bush walk. They got to make plaster of Paris prints of some of the feetprint they found on the trek. It was a lions foot....we get to see it tomorrow once dried. When they came back to the lodge, the next activity was making cupcakes. Isla came back to the room and presented the ones that she made to her Daddy as a birthday cake....singing happy birthday. Bless her. Xxx
Some wildlife around the watering hole. Some more wild than others 😉
Watched a spotted hyena have a drink at the watering hole before we started on the morning game drive. No fantastic sunrise as it was very cloudy. Very quiet. Not much out. Tracked lion trails for almost an hour. Saw impala, wildebeest, zebra, worthogs, white rhino and kudu.... .....still hoping for the ultimate finding

Think and her baby at the watering hole next to Etali
First game drive just after arriving. We followed 2 male cheetah brother's as they walk along looking for their kill. Watched them chase some waterbuck and wildebeest......but the gave up and had a rest.
View from the room balcony and the main balcony
On the road. Off to Etali Safari Lodge, Madikwe. A special weekend for Steve's last in his 40's. I booked it as a surprise......hope he enjoys
