Stage 6 of Matteo's Travel: Singapore (Final)

3 April 2017

Spent my last day mostly back at the gardens by the bay. The night I was there I only watched the fancy light up trees but there's a lot more to. Two large dome that have a plethora of different plant life on them which make for some fantastic pictures. Really beautiful place that also saves you from the hot and humid weather outside for a few hours. Just strolled around the city a little afterwards and that slowly made my way towards the airport which I'm currently at. Are those things that tell you the time of the planes considered vintage at this point in time? Haven't seen them a lot.....anyway I guess this is it. I'd like to say thank you to everyone that followed all the way to the end, I hope you enjoyed what I had to say about my trip and my experiences. Until my next trip, see you all.

Visited the Singapore Zoo (or S'pore Zoo) which was great. Really big Zoo with tons of free roaming lizards, birds and monkeys. I spent a lot of time with the Lizards, cause they're obviously the coolest animals. Even had a 3m Komodo Dragon which was fantastic. Sadly the Crocodile exhibit was being renovated so I didn't get to see any crocs. Spent nearly the entire in the Zoo and by the time I got back, I ate dinner and it was 8 o clock already. In 24h I'm gonna be sitting at the airport, eagerly waiting to check in and hop on that plane home. Don't know what I'll be doing yet tomorrow, maybe just explore Chinatown and Little India some more, we'll see.

1 April 2017

For the evening I planned to go the Gardens by The Bay which is located very close to the gigantic Marina Bay Sands Hotel. It has a beautifully lit area with some artificial "Trees" that displays a light show in the evening of which I have a few pictures here. As you can tell, my phone struggles a little in the dark but rest assured, it was beautiful. Reminded me somewhat of the glowworm walks I did in New Zealand. A definite highlight here as well. Will probably visit the Zoo tomorrow and see what else pops up.
First stop today was the Singapore Flyer, the largest giant observation wheel in the world (apparently, don't quote me on that). Some great views of the city, the harbor and the Marina Bay area including the hotel as well. Then had a little stopover through some shopping streets to my second hostel. After waiting for it to be close to dark I ventured through Chinatown towards my next destination.

Arrived in Singapore safe and sound. From what I've seen, very nice airport. Transit system is also very nicely set up. Not even a 20 minute ride from here to the airport which is great. Was originally gonna go out and see one or two things but I'm just so dead meat that I desperately need some sleep. Hopefully it doesn't rain 100% of the time I'm here.
