Thanksgiving Week

23 November 2017

When we got home Meredith and I started preparing our part of the food: apple strudel, sweet potatoe casserole (with marshmallows on top) and mashed potatoes. We finished it shortly before the dinner. While cooking we were watching the rest of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on TV and also a dog show. Then the Thanksgiving meal started, the kids were the first to go, obviously, then we took whatever we wanted from the buffet. Before eating Meredith's dad said a prayer while we werd all holding hands (just like in a movie!!) and then we started eating. The food was really good! And I was allowed to have some glasses of wine... There was of course Turkey and its stuffing, but other then that broccoli cheese casserole, and a green bean onion one and of course the mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. Sticky cake, or whatever it's called and cranberry sauce! For dessert we had 2 apple pies a pumpkin pie (nothing for me though...) and the applestrudel, all with vanilla ice cream! Yummy!
THANKSGIVING WEEK - THANKSGIVING We left around 9 to go a small Thanksgiving parade. It took place in Krissi's neighbourhood (Meredith's oldest sister). We've been walking for about 1 hour and had a great view on the sea and were even able to see the skyline of NYC!! Then we went to Krissi's house, which is amazing and big! I'm so in love with the 3rd floor! Where I'm prob gonna sleep in 2 weeks, looking forward to it!

THANKSGIVING WEEK Day 1 We left at 6:15 in the morning and arrived in Connecticut around 12 o'clock. First of all we had lunch at 'gates.' Then we drove to Meredith's sister Jen's house...it's amaaazing, and extreeemly big, just like all the other houses in this neighbourhood! I went for a short walk around the area in the afternoon but other than that it wasn't a special day. I spent most of the time in my room resting and watching Rizzoli&Isles. In the evening we ordered asian food and then went to bed. Dit I mention that I love my room?😍

November LCC meeting It was reay nice even tough it's only been 6 people of our group. We were just sitting and talking, and EATING!!! At the end Anne mentioned how I'm the youngest au pair and that she thinks it's really brave to be an au pair here at this age. I felt really flattered...
