Last days: cleaning our rooms. Someone got tired in the process. 😴

More from Thaïs! ⛱ We are having a wonderful time! 👨👩👧
Another paradise in Thaïs. Oldish hotel with swimming pool and a private beach, nice restaurant and ...a bar! 🍹
European toilets and soap (I've never imagined that I could miss soap this much 😜) - just wonderful.
19 September 2017
We visited the village of Aith Yenni today. They make traditional Kabyle jewellery here.
After we went to see friends and Elina made her first visit to a playground.
17 September 2017
Went for a walk to see the abandoned old village of Tigrurin, where Hakim's grandmother used to live. Most of the houses are still standing, but nobody lives here anymore: people moved down next to the road, to be close to fountains, shops, etc.
Just look at the view!!! Isn't it breathtaking?
16 September 2017
Next stop: The port of Tigzirt. A modernish port built just recently. Lots of boats, couples having romantic walks, ice cream 🍦, fun fair for kids and of course a fantastic view to the sea.
Highlight of the day: I drove back from here to home!! 👏🏼 (Does somebody know if my license is valid here? 😀) - Oh, I could write a love song to our rented, dirty, stinky, Volkswagen 🚗 : backdoors don't work, pieces hanging from the bottom of it, windows are dodgy, but it's still like heaven to drive.
We came to Thamda Ougmoun (good luck with the pronunciation 😀) to eat fresh fish 🐟. Very nice little restaurant with an amazing view to the sea.
Since Elina mastered crawling - thanks to Coach Grandma 👵 - there is no such thing as sitting in one place for her (or me). - I love it! 😍

This is how the pool looks like on a Friday. Everybody is busy praying. 😀
Colgate advertisement 😁
13 September 2017
Not a very interesting day but certainly a good one: we went to see a dentist 👨⚕️ to get our smiles polished. The lady did a great job and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I'm so glad we did this, it was needed and here it's so much cheaper than it is in the UK.
12 September 2017
We came to Bejaia today: what a beautiful place!!! ☀️Sunshine, private beach, swimming pool, and everything you need for a perfect day. Baby girl loved the water so did we. This is a small heaven. 🏝
11 September 2017
Elina turned 10 months today. 💜
On our way to Azazga we saw monkeys 🐒!!! That's the real Africa. 😀
9 September 2017
One extremely boring day. Hakim went to see his friends and left me here. No internet, nothing to do, apart from sitting in the garden with relatives who don't speak English.
Elina still loves it though. 😊
8 September 2017
Another day at the sea. We visited a rocky beach today. I think I prefer where we were yesterday: here there were no showers, no buffets, no toilets. But we had a nice afternoon there anyway.
On our way back I got a pizza 🍕!! Finally some normal food. 😜 I usually don't mind too much about food but here everything is so tasteless! Pizza wasn't the best either but it was a lifesaver.
We went for a walk in the morning before the heat kicked in.
7 September 2017
The beautiful beach 🏖of some unpronounceable city. We spent the day there. Elina found the sea a bit scary: big waves 🌊, and so on but got used to it after some time.
There is no baby food here whatsoever so Elina eats what we eat: today it was beef burger 🍔 and fries 🍟 (there goes our healthy diet - but at the end it's better than nothing 🤷🏼♀️)
And I just had to take a photo of the Algerian version of Coke Zero. 😀
It was a good day. Got home tired and ready to sleep. Had a plate of fruits for dinner and that's it. Boys are out, everybody else is sleeping. That's the same routine every night.
Hakim rented a car (a Volkswagen - I'm spoiled!) and we went to the sea. Amazing view but the roads 😱 This time (first and probably last time) I just quietly took the passenger seat instead of going straight to the driver seat. 😜
Visited some of the cousins (half of the village) on our way so I had to change twice before we left the house: too short, too tight and so on 🤦🏼♀️ But not just me! Baby girl as well!
6 September 2017
Stomach with chickpeas for dinner. My father's favourite dish (without the chickpeas - I have never heard of chickpeas before I moved to England, this is how popular it is in Hungary).
I look away for a sec and this happens. 😱
I'm all about hygiene: bottled water, separate spoons, plate for the baby and we are basically swimming in antibacterial hand gel. Elina? She stole a fig from just under the tree and ate it all. (Needless to say that when I offered her the washed - in bottled water of course -, peeled version of a fig two minutes earlier she didn't want it. 🤦🏼♀️)
Cats as far as you can see! Elina loves them. 😊
They don't look anything like our well fed, super spoiled Beni, but that doesn't bother her.
5 September 2017
Don't let the bath and the shower head 🚿 foul you: they don't work, just there to look good. No running water. If you want to have a shower you go, bring water from the fountain, boil it on the stove bring it upstairs and ... enjoy! 🤦🏼♀️
Elina doesn't mind! 😇
My blue eyes make me very popular here, apparently my beauty is beyond words. 😅
They gave me this lovely Berber dress. Once I've put it on, my sister-in-law reminded me that I should also put the underskirt provided, as without it the shape of legs is visible and that makes me a call girl 👯... We don't want that! 😜
Room with a view
This is the view from our room. We are in a village in the mountains in Tizi-Ouzou.
32 degrees, palm trees 🌴 , sun ☀️, mountains 🏔 as far as you can see. It's beautiful!
Baby girl is extremely popular: blond Berber goddess. 👶🏼
13 hours journey but we are here!
First things comes to mind: DUST everywhere. Cars from the 70s, no road marks, but everybody drives like crazy. I asked for baby changing facilities at the airport the cleaner pointed at a table near the security area where they check your luggages on arrival (yes, on arrival 🤦🏼♀️)... Toilet at a fuel station: a whole in the ground... Oh dear... 😅
Ready for the flight

Visas sorted! 🇩🇿
It's all becoming very real now. Only a couple of days to go - and still so much to get done...
29 August 2017
Algeria! First thing coming to my mind: OMG how am I going to survive this?? 😱 But time has come to visit the in-laws and introduce baby girl to her second/third home.
Visa applications submitted, started shopping, packing bags, prepare and PANIC.
Algeria, get ready, here we come!!!
