Our current status.

28 June 2018

We made it to Atlanta. Currently in a mile long line at customs. Our next flight is delayed. I will update with times when we get through customs.
We were escorted through the Amsterdam airport and they held our next flight for us so we are all on it and ready to get back to the USA!!! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
Our flight ✈ from Berlin to Amsterdam is delayed a little. I will keep everyone posted if it affects our next flights.

We then had more free time so we went to the Holocaust Memorial and Museum and also to a watch party/festival where they were watching the ⚽️ soccer ⚽️ game between πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ Germany and South Korea. We then had dinner and came back to the hotel to pack and prep for our departure tomorrow. πŸ›„We will have some free time in the morning before we leave.
We then had some free time for lunch. After that, we did an underground bunker tour that was very interesting. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures during the tour. πŸ“΅
We went on a tour of Alderstaf which is the "science center" and houses Humboldt University. πŸ“‘πŸ”¬πŸ”

It was another full day of walking πŸ‘£ and using the public transport 🚌 πŸš†πŸšŠ . I think most of us hit a wall today and are exhausted (not the Berlin Wall, lol)! 😴 We went on a tour of Aldershof which is the "science center" and houses Humboldt University. πŸ“‘πŸ”¬πŸ” We then had some free time for lunch.

26 June 2018

Today was a big walking day πŸ‘£. We had a bus tour 🚌 with stops this morning and ended up at Checkpoint Charlie βœ”. Then some people went on a Street Art Tour 🎨 and some had free time πŸ›. We all met up for dinner and had some free time to explore afterwards β›².

More from the walking tour.
We made it to our hotel which is nice and then went to dinner. After, we had an orientation to the city center and a long walking tour. We got to see where the Berlin Wall used to be (bricks on the ground in the pictures).
After we made it to Berlin we got to ride on public transit in Europe for the first time.
About to arrive to Berlin from our 6.5 hour train ride 😏

24 June 2018

Our tour guide surprised us with a boat ride through what they call "Little Venice" πŸš£β€β™‚οΈ. It was beautiful and fun. Tomorrow we head to Berlin by train πŸš„.
We then traveled to Colmar, France. Everyone was super excited to go France. We got to see a smaller replica of the Statue of Liberty πŸ—½ because the sculptor who designed it, Bartholdi, was from there.
We got a tour of some Sustainability and Renewable Energy examples in Freiburg. πŸ’§πŸŒ¬β˜€οΈ

23 June 2018

Lastly, we arrived to Freiburg as they were celebrating/having a gay pride πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ parade so we saw some of that, and got to walk around and see the town and have dinner 🍽.
Next, we got to see/walk in the Black Forest 🌲🌳, learn about cuckoo clocks and how they are madeπŸ•°, and learn about renewable energy from using wood chips ♻️.
Today we went to the Lake Constance area. We got to go on a solar powered boat cruise β›΄. While on the boat cruise, we were technically in SwitzerlandπŸ‡¨πŸ‡for part of it, so that was exciting!

22 June 2018

Today we got to see a UNESCO pilgrimage church and went to Neuschwanstein Castle which involved a mile hike up a mountain to get to.

21 June 2018

Our dinner tonight, salad, hamburgers and pasta.
Deutsches Museum- a neat science museum!
Munich bus tour and stop at Nymphemberg Palace.

Dachau was an eerily somber place to visit but well worth the visit!

20 June 2018
