After stumbling across the cutest little morning market and having our first French breakfast, in what we soon realised to be a typically French cafe with red awning and welcomed heaters, we decided to hop on the Parisian metro and head to the Eiffel Tower. The metro in Paris is not the same as London, it’s a lot older and after nearly falling over a few times we realised a lot bumpier, quicker and with lots of bends!
With a view like this we soon forgot the 4 degree weather! But after standing in line for an hour and a half and then up the top of the Eiffel Tower the cold soon seeped in. We were frozen... but very happy!
The views from the top were amazing! Everything is so uniform and organised and the Sacré Coeur glistened white on top of its small hill.
We were able to stay outside up the top with our champagne for about 15 minutes before our hands were absolutely frozen (Emma had no gloves!) before rushing inside and warming up by the radiators enjoying the view.
Awake and excited at 4:45 for our early Eurostar into Paris! Arrived by 9am for a full day of exploring!
When the train quickly came out of the channel tunnel we were greeted with beautifully snowy French countryside!
