Emily & Paul's adventure in Centralia, PA, Un

24 June 2017

Most beautiful sunset that I have ever seen. Was completely breathtaking 😍 Was super excited to be with the love of my life.
Bought this shirt at FYE for $.50. Didn't know that was even for sale that less. I saw it for three dollars and had to buy it. Later that evening, Paul and I walked on Centralia Rd. Most know it either as Silent Hill or 'Graffiti Rd'. I was blessed to be able to share this with him. Anyway, I seen this on Centralia Rd. And asked Paul to take a picture of me next to it.
There are 7 people left in Centralia. This is the only abandoned house left there. Didn't go inside but looked in. People were given a lump sum of money from PA to move out of this burning coal mine town - they literally left all their belongings behind.

One of three cemetaries that sit in Centralia. It's amazing knowing that this little town (which is so popular now only because of Silent Hill) held such amazing heroism. To see and feel the atmosphere standing in the middle of this - you'll only know by going yourself and feeling it too. We had talked with a resident at the graffitied wall and he was telling us that some of the remaining residents have been asking for the state now to help them move off the land that's been burning for centuries now. It's wild that there families have stayed all this time. Why move now?
