Beautiful day off today, went to tennoji Park for a picnic, 20°C and felt nice and warm t shirt weather 🌞. Explored around the area then went for dinner at Chinese restaurant which we both had a delicious meal 🍲🍴
Treated ourselves to some delicious food tonight after work! Went to a Japanese pub and had garlic bread, steak in gravy, rice, chips and miso soup. Then stumbled across a TGI Friday's and had pudding 😂😋 its nice now and again to have some home foods.

Not much to report recently, just working and getting back into a routine.
Weve signed up to anytime fitness and were both enjoying being back in the gym and eating healthier 👌
There are some strange rules in Japanese gyms though! I wonder if its a frequent problem with people brushing their teeth and getting naked 🤔😂?
I also have to cover my tattoos with these black sleeves I bought as tattoos are considered taboo. They are heavily associated with criminal gangs like yakuza even though as a foreigner its highly unlikely I am part of the yakuza.

Went to meet our boss at his office to pick up our wages and it turns out he's got a pretty nice office with a hell of a veiw of osaka!
I don't think he'll mind if we ask for a pay rise 😂😂

Welcome to our humble abode 😁🏡
Officially moved in! It's not the biggest place but it feels homely already. We plan to stay here for about 3 months.
Our first proper place together 😁 if you said when we first met that our first home would be in osaka, Japan I would of called you crazy 😂 this is one hell of an adventure and we are having the time of our lives 👌
We get the subway to work every morning, going to sign up for the gym tomorrow, feels like we are part of the community now.

Viewed the apartment tonight. We were unsure on first impressions but talked about it and other options over dinner and once we got home. Looking at other available rooms the one we looked at could be nice once we put our own little touches on it to make it more homely. It was a double room with private bathroom and small kitchen with WiFi on the 8th floor of a guesthouse. The lady that showed us around was lovely and we met a English guy who went to school in stroud who speaks fluent Japanese who was also nice and friendly.
We are fairly sure we will take this apartment it is in a nice location not far from osaka Castle and 5mins from anytime fitness 😁 which we obvs went in and asked about membership so gym might be on the cards too!
Dinner was soo good! Tried this chain called yoshinoya and went for beef, rice, sweet potato, pumpkin, miso soup, and veg in some gravy sauce and it was only £4.50 for the lot! I think we've found our go to meal out when we don't want to cook 🍴😁

Tonight we took the subway two stops down from our hostel to this place! It's so bright and colorful with so many places to eat, drink or have fun in the many wacky arcades! Jess doesnt love them as much as I do! We went to our fav burger joint (Wendy's) 😋 then went for bevvies at one of the izakayas (Japanese style pub) I asked for grape sour and got grapefruit sour, this is pretty normal 😂😂 if you want your order correct just point at it in the menu.
We are viewing a double room tomorrow in an apartment so hopefully if all goes well we might have our own place soon, even though we actually quite like it at our hostel.

Today we caught the train to Nara Park, it took around 40mins and cost only 4 quid each one way.
Once we arrived in Nara we checked in to our hostel, dropped off our bags and went to hire bicycles 😬. For just 3.50 for the day off we went about a km away through the little town then we were at the deer park. Looking at a map the place was huuuge and I was surprised at just how many wild deer there was roaming wherever they liked. We parked our bikes up and went off exploring the grounds. In the main areas there was a lot of tourists and mainly asian but there was plenty of different paths and big open spaces to get close to the deers and also feed them with deer crackers which we bought from one of the stalls. The deer were very tame but when feeding them they are sometimes not very patient so you need to feed them a bit quick. We spent a good few hours here and had a great time, well worth the visit and we will certainly come back. 🦌🦌🦌

Went to a very delicious Thai restaurant tonight to celebrate us both finding jobs in the city🎉🏙️

Our hostel for 6 nights whilst we look for an apartment or Airbnb or maybe even shared house (again) It's cheap for Japan, it's also clean and quiet with nice privacy curtains. The hostels location in Namba is great as it has everything going on around it! So many restaurants and food stalls with a lot of variety! We tried Takoyaki (deep fried octopus balls) a osaka speciality but it was safe to say it wasn't for us 🤮. We Also had our first Taco Bell experience (not a osaka speciality) and that was delicious 🌮🌮
Osaka is magnificent so we're going to try live and work here for a few months 🤩

KYOTO Day 2
Today we took the train to the edge of town to go see the wild monkeys play! There was a small 20 min hike to get to them, once we reached the top it was a little scary at first because these monkeys are wild! We didn't know if they were aggressive or misbehaved or if they even liked us being there but we soon realized that they really weren't bothered by us at all.
Whilst taking a million pictures of the monkeys there was also a beautiful view of Kyoto in the distance to admire! This place was so fun and a definite highlight of our day!
We also visited a few small temples and went to the bamboo forests, which were slightly underwhelming as we pictured them being a bit more enchanting like in the pics online. We went for a few nibbles and a couple of bevvys at an izakaya down in the "main" part of Kyoto which we thought would be a bit more going on but hey ho still a great day had 👌
Our first night in Nagoya, we were so happy to be back in the city, our flight from Sapporo landed around 6pm, we took the train from the airport and luckily we found our hotel quite easily, we dropped our bags off in our small room (but not the smallest room we have ever had haha) and went for a walk around the city. My first impression of the third biggest city in Japan was ‘wow, the streets are so quiet’, don’t get me wrong the streets were packed with people, cars, bars and restaurants with the biggest flashing signs, but there was no congestion noise, no loud car horns and no loud voices. The city people were very polite, respectful and helpful.
We had tea at a Teishoku restaurant, where the food is brought out on trays with one main dish in the middle, then smaller side dishes filled with rice, soup, pickled vegetables and sauce. It was delicious. The restaurant was called Ootoya. Oishi!!

After 3 incredible months spent up in Niseko, we successfully learnt how to ski and snowboard 🙌met tonnes of amazing friends both international and Japanese! The experiences we've had here already have been like no other. Working alongside Japanese people everyday really helped me learn some basic Japanese and i aslo learnt a lot about how polite, kind and happy they are. I can honestly say that this was the most memorable season by far.
Today we fly to Nagoya from Sapporo. The flight takes 2 hours and only cost about £50 each flying with AirAsia.
