Yesterday we had the opportunity to explore Paris in small groups. The top of the Eiffel Tower was extremely scary and cold, but one of the most amazing views I’ve seen in my life! Would 10/10 do again!

5 January 2018

Final day in Berlin was spent at the UNHCR where we met and discussed the issue of refugees in context to both Germany and the international community. From there we had free time where we were able to explore Berlin on our own. Finally we spent the night exploring the dome on top of Germany’s Parliament House.

Yesterday we had the opportunity to meet with an Australian diplomat who represnts Australian interests here in Germany, at the Australian Embassy in Berlin. We also had the opportunity to visit the World Bank headquarters and meet with a diplomat who works with German finance brokers and shareholders within the institution to provide much needed development aid to third world nations. I also had the opportunity to visit the LGBT museum which explored some interesting, unspoken topics within the LGBT community.

2 January 2018

Last night I had the opportunity to visit the Berlin Wall. Having learnt about the history of Germany, in particular the breakup following WW2, it was extremely moving to be standing in no mans land.

Berlin 🇩🇪
The amount of wind turbines in Germany is amazing! Hundreds upon hundreds scattered outside of Berlin. The houses are together in cute clusters, all similar in size and colour! Very cute.
Leaving Roma Airport bound for Berlin!
It’s currently 6:12am in Abu Dhabi (our departure city) and 3:13am in Rome (our destination city). We are flying Air Italia whose planes haven’t been updated since 1950... but it’s fun. 💁🏽‍♂️ In terms of flight path, we have completely diverted around Syria and Iraq (current no fly zones + dangerous areas prone to attacks by ISIL). Keen to land. 😌🙌🏽
Rome here we come. ✈️✈️✈️

31 December 2017

Exhausted... and our flight is only just beginning. It’s mostly empty (which is great) plenty of room to move around to friends.
Apple Juice in Wine Glasses, why not? It’s Sydney!
