Minka Hostel! Our first hostel in Ecuador! We arrived late and left early but it was beautiful, clean, cozy, and we wish we could've stayed longer!
Quilotoa was absolutely stunning, this crater lake is at an altitude of 3,914 meters, which made the very steep 14 mile hike back to Chugchilan a bit of a challenge! We also had a breathtaking kayak ride around the laguna! Totally worth it and such an incredible experience ☺️🇪🇨🚣🏼♀️🏞

Hostel #2! Definitely a splurge at $35 a night, especially in Ecuadorian standards but this place was incredible! Black Sheep Inn, a gorgeous ecolodge with 3 delicious multiple course vegetarian meals each day, sheep, llamas, pigs, zip lines, yoga studio, and SO much more!
The bus rides from Quito to Chugchilán were... interesting. There were locals selling fruit, bread, and chocolates and after we got to the mountains there were some terrifying moments with a very speedy bus and very sharp turns with huge cliffs! Let's just say the roads here are a bit different from the US.
