Sihanoukville/Koh Rong, Cambodia 🇰🇭
We took a taxi for four hours to the coast of Cambodia. Checked into the cutest little bungalow in Otres beach. The beaches here are amazing. We had some long romantic walks on the beach to watch the sunset. On day two we took a speedboat to Koh Rong island. This place was a little bit of paradise. Chilled on the beach, attempted some kayaking and met the cutest little puppy called Steve. I am currently 30mins into a 12 hour bus journey. Help me! Next stop Vietnam.
Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🇰🇭
We took an over night hotel bus to Phnom Penh. Some how our driver made what was supposed to be a 8hour journey a 4hour journey. Arriving in Phnom Penh at 4am we went straight to our hostel.
They say travelling is about learning about the history of the country. Today we visited the Choeung El Genocidal Center otherwise known as the killing fields. It is now a memorial centre for the thousands that were brutally murdered by the Khmer Rouge under Pol Pot's regime between 1975 - 1979. After this we continued to S21 prison where people were held and tortured before being brought to the killing fields. This place was so hard to walk around. Hearing the stories of what happened in this place was difficult and disturbing. I walked out of here feeling very grateful for where I was born and brought up. It left us feeling pretty deflated so we headed back to our hostel and had a chilled evening. Tomorrow we are off to Sihanoukville.

Day 6 + 7
Siem Reap, Cambodia 🇰🇭
Staying out until 2am and catching a 6hr train to Cambodia from Bangkok was not a bright idea. 😓 After crossing the border and getting our visas we had a 2.5hr bus journey to Siem Reap. We are staying in a really cool hostel called the Funky flash packer.
This morning we had an early start at 4.30am to watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat. The views made it worth while. So beautiful and peaceful.

This place is crazy.
Visited the sky bar and hit Khao San road for a few buckets. It's now 2.30 am. We have a six hour train to catch at 6am to Cambodia. This will be fun. 😩

Today was incredible. Standing in a waterfall hugging an elephant in the rain was so surreal. 🐘

Last day in Chiangmai.
Had a massage by an ex prisoner. This was interesting. 😬
Some other random pictures from our first stop.
Tomorrow we fly to Bangkok to experience Khao San road.
We are now thai chefs.
I make a mean pad Thai. 🍜
