Christi's adventure in North Kessock, United

13 October 2016

And that's it. The end. We descended from the heights of the highlands back to Fife. :( An awesome few days with my favourite people in the world, in my favourite place in the world.
Corner on the Square at Beauly. Deciding which of the lovely, lovely cakes to demolish. And the kid has definitely developed a taste for hot chocolate :)
Grumpy kid getting ready to leave. I was pretty reluctant I have to say.

Finally an end to a busy day. Coffee and cake (and tablet and a giant spider) at Storehouse of Foulis on the Cromarty firth.
Paid a visit to the Shandwick stone.
Visiting one one of my most missed places. Shandwick beach. Kid thought growing up here must have been awesome. :)
Choppy on Shandwick Beach
Lily sick and tired of the photos (Rosemarkie)
Seaside cafe at Rosemarkie after a visit to the Pictish, Groam Museum.
Chanonry Point looking for dolphins and watching seabirds we couldn't recognise doing that spectacular dive-bomb thing into the water. No dolphins though. :(
Started the day at the eerie Clootie Well. Even added to it. :)
Chilling before we head off. Cosy after a very chilly morning. Waiting for the monkey to finish her marathon shower.

Oyster and Lily using her eye in Hugh Miller's cottage
Christi taking a famous photograph
Quick stop in North Kessock
Coffee stop at Sutor Creek. Lovely GF food. Good service too.
Inside the museum. Touchscreen quizzes! The future has reached Cromarty. Totally didn't expect the museum to be as good as it was.
Gorgeous ammonite sculpture in the back garden of Hugh Miller's cottage. Partly made of old brass paraffin lamps.
Heading into Hugh Miller's cottage. Early geology pioneer and possible religious crazy.
Oil rigs graveyard. Cromarty firth.
The Suitars, from Cromarty.
Across the water to what used to be HiFab, maker of massive oil rigs.
And we're off! Heading off to mess around in Cromarty for the day.

Cosy :)
The child is getting more cultured every day. Irn Bru fae a wine glass. No idea why it's saying Dalgety Bay...
Here at last! A few days of proper peace and fresh air and monkeying on the cards.
In the Sneck! Yay! Even if it is dobbies where the sandwiches taste of egg and nothingness.
Idiots littering the Cairngorms whilst travelling up here to take in all the beauty.
Escaping Dalgety Bay complete with monkey.
