Arrived in Auckland we picked up the car at a rental place and headed towards the eastcoast on the peninsula. First stop anchor hostel. Made dinner and drank a bottle of gin. We all felt pretty drunk so after being too loud we got thrown out of the hostel the next morning. This has never happened to me before but to be honest the owner done us a favour. We drove to Cathedral cove and the hot water beach which was lovely, I have to say. Stayed in a hotel the next night in Waihi and played cards. On Sunday we made our way up to Whakamata where we had our last supper before saying goodbye. I stayed in a little place of the grid called Opoutere to relax for 2 days before my trip comes to an end.

Up at cape Reinga. Stayed a night in Paihia withthe boys. Had a relaxing windy afternoon down at the beach and hit the road up to the northest spot of New Zealand the next day. Went for a walk, some photos on the way and lots of laughters. Cape Reinga followed by walking on the sand dunes and visiting the 90 mile beach. Really havn‘tbeen lucky with the weather the past few days so we went for a nice dinner and had a couple of cold once. Friday I jumped on the bus back down to Auckland to head to rainy Coromandel on the Peninsula.

5 February 2018
Had the best weekend so far. Sailed to the Maori rock carvings. Since it was very windy the boat was rocking heavy. We got soaked by water. Met Tamara who came to visit me all the way from Auckland to spend the weekend with me. The following day got even bettery we went black water rafting in the waitomo caves. Millions of glowworms were above us and we were climbing through narrow tunnels and waterflows. Shortly after we experienced something not a lot of people have seen before we left waitomo to see the lovely hamilton gardens. We finished our day by going to famous Hobbiton were the filmset was located for hobbit and the lord of the rings. 💍

Hobbiton the town. All the hobbit holes. In total there are around 60 little hobbit houses spread around the village. It was impressive how they made this place happen.
31 January 2018
Taupo day one and two. Went to the Huka falls and swimming in the natural hot waterpools. (40 degrees). A walk along the beach trying to win 10‘000$ by potting a hole in one. Sitting at the beach playing cards and having nice chats with a couple of cold once.
After spending four nights in Nelson I got the ferry to the Northisland. Booked in to a hostel and made new friends pretty fast. Stayed in the capital city for 2 nights going to museums and nice walks up to mount victoria and along the beach. Hopped on an intercity bus this morning and making my way up to Taupo where I‘m going to explore what the biggest lake of NZ has to offer.
