Charisse Durack

Charisse's adventure in Australia - Nov 2018

26 June 2017

Hello, haven't been around for a while! We are back in Southern Ireland but life is still blinking wacky๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธyou may or may not want to listen to my ramblings but for me to get it off my "chest" is great. Hello from us, most importantly, Mutley ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

27 April 2017

We have now been home six weeks - OMG what a cock up to come back to ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Anyway we have big hearts and souls so hopefully all will work out. BUT we are no longer in Australia but now back in Southern Ireland!!! Mutley, our rescue greyhound, is ecstatic., but not happy being left by us. Anyway will keep my diary/blog going ๐Ÿค—

15 March 2017

On bus finally, due into Cahir in 30 mins; shattered isn't a strong enough word ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค
We've missed the bus because they moved the bus stop!!!' Wandering around with all our baggage - watch this space ๐Ÿ˜ก
We have arrived ๐Ÿ‘safe & sound, no fisticuffs or wrestling, a few laughs during the flights, good food, wine and conversation ๐Ÿค—

15 March 2017

30 minutes to landing and Bernard tapping away to send an email to George in an attempt to either wind him up or make him smile ๐Ÿ™€ Descending - bye for now

14 March 2017

This is back to front, read the last one first ๐Ÿค— He got the letter back, sauntered into the lounge and proceeded to put himself s whisky! Me frantic or what? Last ones to board yet again - will touch base in about 12 hours ๐ŸŽ‰
Final Boarding call and he's just left! As some of you may know, my husband is a little hard of hearing - OK DEAF - there are a lot of people around us so I quietly said "is there a bog in here?", he said what? I repeated, he said eh? Again, so I once again said it and he said "you want pork?" - I've almost had an accident ๐Ÿคฃ
He's just come back - mo email, apparently we can't spell Qantas !!! We put a U in it. So he's sat down again, waiting for email, quaffing his wine and will then hop off at a leisurely pass to the post box - where's the Valium and dark room to lie down in? Oh can't do that, have a flight to miss. Bernard has just said when I've finished what I'm doing, he wants me to read an email from the Accountant- yup, he's still sitting and slurping without a care in the world arghhhbh
Page Flipping TWO So tells me to re-send, can't find it, so down goes my phone and the "Sainted" IPad Air is out to solve all. He's just found email to forward, a work still in progress - oops no, it's all systems go now I think ๐Ÿ‘. Next step he has to parcel up, go back they security to put in. Post box, we are supposed to be at the boarding gate in one minute. It's a 5-10 min walk to Refunds๐Ÿ™€ he's just got himself a glass of wine and is sauntering off ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€ Is it any wonder I'm losing my hair! Farrah and James now call all things done wrong, forgotten, lost, tripped etc "doing a Bernard" ๐Ÿคฃ
Who says it is straightforward to travel with a "Bernard"? Got through security and I happened to mention to himself I couldn't find Apple receipt for his IPad Air. Well what a flipping kerfuffle ๐Ÿ‘€. Bernard is determined to get his refund of $51.26!!! It's all down tools in the hallway, passengers almost tripping over us as he progressively became more irritated- IPad out, kernickers in a knot cos he couldn't get wifi, IPad to me WiFi switched on, search for receipts, found just the one (he also bought a case cover for it, couldn't find that one - whoops. I dragbags to lounge, he goes back thru security to Refund place. Half an hour later back in, hear his voice in reception, back to me slightly agitated cos he needed a copy of the receipt for a refund, asked lounge receptionist if she can print off if he emails to her. That's ok then a form had to be filled in with 2 envelopes to drop in box. No staff on in refunds! He just went to receptionist and she hasn't received email! Contd/

13 March 2017

So our last day yesterday it not without a hiccup! On the way to Post Office Bernard dropped his IPhone, so last night it was an urgent trip down the road with James to try and find it - alas to no avail๐Ÿ’ฆ On my Find IPhone app it is flashing (!!) by the Post Office so at 9am it's a trip down the road and fingers crossed it will be in there ๐Ÿ™€

12 March 2017

Thunder and lightening today, Dave came to sit with me. Lightening flashing through the windows โšก๏ธ Sorted most of packing, vacuum bags are a wonderful invention - have sorted stuff to leave here in the car and what we will be bringing home ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Car booked into a storage unit for six or so months, locked up and safe. Gotta protect these 18 year old cars!!

11 March 2017

Only three more days to go ๐Ÿ’ฆ. Photos are of Farrah and James frolicking today ๐Ÿ’– We're off to Hillery's now - a large Marina/beach/kookie shopping place๐Ÿ‘€back later peeps ๐Ÿค—

7 March 2017

Yes day we had a wonderful day. James and Farrah with their friend James took us out on their boat on the Swan River, Perth. Coming back I spotted two beautiful black swans, James took the boat closer for me, they were very friendly. We then had lunch in a riverside pub called The Lucky Shag๐Ÿ™€
Farah getting in and out of their boat, quite difficult as she forgot to drop the ladder๐Ÿ™€
Some more photos of our day out yesterday. We can't believe our journey is now coming to an end - it has been the best visit here so far. We have made so many new friends, met old ones and renewed previous friends. BUT don't panic there's another week to go ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

3 March 2017

Bernard's head update - newsflash, read all about it ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€ - the Durack nut is recovering, that's his head and obviously the whole nut persona he is ๐Ÿคก Himself is going scuba diving Sunday, has to be in Fremantle at 7.30am - now that will be a Kodak moment as those of you who know us well, we're not early birds!! Dave, Daisy and I will chill out and then wander down the road for a walk at some stage if not too hot, can't risk them burning their little paws ๐Ÿพ๐ŸพThat's all for now folks - so it's goodbye from him and goodbye, temporarily, from me ๐Ÿ˜‡

2 March 2017

I've just written a huge bit about today and lost it - bugger it. Needless to say himself wound me up today and is the main focus of my "chat" today. Will do more tomorrow. Looked at a few others today and maybe I'm doing this wrong and should be talking about monuments and tours. But how can I with Bernard the "Super Dubree", couldn't say man cos he's not. Ok, goodnight ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค

26 February 2017

Farrah and Bernard took the dogs to the beach at 8 am this morning, I stayed behind and hence missed the "action"!!! As you can see Bernard had an accident ๐Ÿ‘€ The waves were very strong and there is a very strong tow, he got into some problems and couldn't get out of the sea, a wave then smacked him from the back, he fell forward and his forehead hit the sand bottom. Farrah was trying to hold the dogs and get to him, there were a crowd of people around him trying to get to him but weren't able, a larger stronger woman then went in, another lady held her arm and she managed to get him out, he had lost consciousness for several seconds. Farrah borrowed a mobile and called the Life Guards who arrived a few minutes later from another beach, checked him over, gave him oxygen and put him in their Ute and took him upto Farrah's jeep. Phew - he's been in bed since then, had some painkillers cos his beck hurts from where his head snapped forward and hit the sand in the sea. He's fine ๐Ÿค—

25 February 2017

Last night at the open air cinema in Perth - it was brilliant as was the film "Lion"๐Ÿค—

24 February 2017

Jack, Damien, his two sons, Maureen and Bernard in the Chinese ๐ŸŽญ lovely evening, back home, Jack & Bernard having a single malt and cigar, Maureen and I just chatting. Beautiful GSD called Roxie here too and she has stolen another piece of my heart along with all these beautiful pets we have met on our travels ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ I will not forget any of them ๐Ÿ˜‡
A Burmese Harp at Jack & Maureen's home outside Mandurah ๐ŸŽผ
Today we are in Mandurah visiting friends who knew Bernard in Mount. Newman back in the '70's, later this evening we are out for a Chinese meal ๐ŸŽŠ

22 February 2017

Yesterday Farrah took us to Hillarys, a Marina a few miles up the road it was beautiful, lovely food and company and of course Bernard had a swim and went down the slide ๐Ÿ‘€

20 February 2017

This is where our Housit is - WAS -, the beautiful Farrah in photo with her dogs, even before she went to Bali, asked us if we wanted to stay with them til we leave Oz. I told her to think about it while they were away. We couldn't believe it and when she came home very ill, she asked again and this most wonderful, warm and loving human being has invited us to stay until we leave and we have accepted ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜˜ Do you know what? Sometimes one gets so many kicks in the teeth and wonders what's it all about and then suddenly a stranger opens their arms, hearts and home up to you and it makes the Soul fly with happiness and the belief that there are caring, loving and open hearted people still in this crazy mixed up world we live in ๐Ÿ’–Long may it continue ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

19 February 2017

Met Russel and Rosemary yesterday in Fremantle, had a beautiful lunch and catch up for Bernard - sorry haven't been on for a while ๐Ÿ’ฆ
Ok so I encouraged Bernard to by an IPad Air from Apple in Perth because his iPad went Phut WHAT A FUCKING MUSTAKA TO MAKA - he can't put it down! It's been in his grubby blood hands for over 24 hours now- and he has had a few issues that he needed my help with which I gave (with my whole heart, esculent me whilst I vomit)! I'm on the verge of becoming a widow โค๏ธnite xx

16 February 2017

10 February 2017

Pouring with rain all day today and there's a heat wave in Sydney! Never mind I'm cooking a lovely dinner tonight "exploded jacket potato" Bernard will be totally chuffticated ๐Ÿ˜‡

9 February 2017

My case and Bernard's case ๐Ÿ‘€ guess which belongs to who?? It's a difficult one I know ๐Ÿ˜‡ A big welcome to Ann Tomkins for hopping aboard ๐Ÿ’‹

8 February 2017

Bernard decided to trim his beard after I mentioned how white and long it was going. So he digs out his trimmer then shouts out to me will I cut his hair (which I always do and shave up his neck). I was preparing dinner and he shouted out for my hair dressing scissors so I get them for him and go back to preparing dinner. Finish same and ho into bathroom where I see Bernard pulling all the hair of one of his eyebrows out, take my scissors and "skelps"! So there he is with hardly any eyebrow, minuscule moustache and hardly a beard and one remaining long eyebrow!!! I shout "what are you doing", he replies well you cut the other one and make them equal, I told him to do that I would have to scalp his eyebrow, himself says "that's ok, it'll grow back" ๐Ÿ™€ - hence the attached photos, before and after !!! Oh mine got und himmel, gotta love him though ๐Ÿ’‹

7 February 2017

Smeeee again. Later I went to get our stuff in and well smacka my chops and call me Stunned of Stubbington, there was my laundry flung on the concrete ๐Ÿ˜ก Hence the photo today, those are DURACK, yes I said DURACK pegs and any feelthy compadres messing with me kernickers will sincerely regret it. I will throw myself on my trusty steed, poncho and sombrero, cheroot hanging from my lips and hunt the vermints down. Hasta la vista ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ
So mi amigos, I have a pecito story para uste (excuse my crapola Spanish but I'm in a Clint Eastwood mood/ spaghetti western sphere today hombres)!๐Ÿคก When we were on the Esperance campsite there were communal pegs for all the 'appy 'oliday makers - so as this one in Albany belongs to the same group I thought same applied here. OH NO BABY, whata mistaka to maka!!! Setting the scene - beautiful sunny and breezy day, campers were flinging their wet knickers on the washing line with gay abandon and I was caught up in washing fever. So dance over to laundry, fling our unmentionables plus other bits and bobs in the machine and skipped bag - did notice a bag of pegs in said laundry so was happy. After 25 mins, flamencoed ๐Ÿ’ƒmy way bag, took my unmentionables and pegs, which some cheeky cow had placed on to if her machine and commenced the hanging process. Feeling good I flung myself back to the cabin for a read. To be contd....

6 February 2017

The beach today, beautiful but a bit windy plus a couple of photos of a very ingenious electric gate which would be ideal for our place at home to keep out pesky cows, bills, horses, donkeys and deer from eating our garden! Have to hope we can get one ๐Ÿคก

5 February 2017

Hurrow, photo of my hubbie, we've just gone to bed and he has armed himself with his CPAP, headphones with meditation music and an eye mask! Yaraphoo - well who said "nookie" was everything and then today, whilst he meditated in bed, a seagull came to the door of our cabin, looked at me, turned his back and pooped! My cup runneth over!! I suppose that some might get be jealous of our travels and exploits but apart from change of country, our normal lives continue. Don't get me wrong though, Bernard and I are very lucky for the opportunities our retirement has given us and we relish every day as it comes. Six weeks and we are homeward bound again and until our next visit down under, himself is very much in demand and valued in Oz, we so look forward to seeing our family and friends again - AND MUTLEY/ALFIE/BOB - my babies - nite nite ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค

3 February 2017

I am absolutely gobdechuffitacated at the amount of followers I have on my blog. I welcome you humbly (I have to say not family members or they will think I've lost the plot!!!) So to you people that are weird enough to follow me and don't know me, WELCOME ABOARD! So maybe you follow kind of normal blogs, this isn't one of those, so be warned, sign off now. We are older, don't sight see, wing every day that we wake up to the sun and move on ๐Ÿค—
We have arrived at Albany, our home for the next three nights, after that your guess is as good as mine ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜
On a cool and windy day here in Albany, a ray of sunshine, relaxed photo of Mutley at home courtesy of Ailish who is house sitting our home and pets ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ he looks well but then before Ailish realised not like leave food on the kitchen work top, he had helped himself to steak, salmon, pounds of butter plus many other delicacies before his smorgasbord was dismantled! Poor Mutley ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿพ

2 February 2017

No news to report, three nights and two days staying in a camp site in Esperance, just relaxing, re-grouping and doing three loads of washing. The trip over the Nularbor was very long, three days, weather pretty rough so needed some downtime. 5324 kms since we left Grafton on 10th December! Tomorrow we head for Albany around 500 kms away, will stay a few days and hopefully Bernard will get a couple of dives in. He needs to get back into the water ๐ŸŠ Good night until next update ๐Ÿ˜˜

Bernard in the Kununarra Museum which has a lot of Durack artifacts- there are around 6 of Elizabeth's paintings. The lady is Wendy who we met on the Lake Argyle cruise, she is a historian who kindly took us around the area yesterday to see all the photos I am posting. Andrew is a volunteer at the museum and his knowledge is truly immense about the Duracks'.

More of Lake Argyle

13 January 2017

I just wrote a long post and lost it!!! Photos of our house here. It's nice. A bit isolated, most neighbours seem to be Aborigines. A fair way from town where there are two supermarkets so if I need to shop, I drop Bernard to the Clinic at 7am. I get up st 6am to get him firing on all cylinders for work - I know we aren't your normal early birds so we are in bed by 8.30pm! It's too hot, humid and lots of flies around for me to have a walk. And wonder of wonders, he comes home smiling every evening, he's enjoying the indigenous clinical practice. He had s lady patient the other day, an aborigine, her surname was Durack, she's going to drop in her family tree. So mon famile, you could have some exotic distant relatives! Well blow my digeredoo down ๐Ÿ˜ We are off to Lake Argyle tomorrow to visit the Durack Homestead and have a 3 hour cruise, will post photos when I have them. Well that's it for now ๐Ÿ˜˜

9 January 2017

Home from his first day at the Clinic- ahhh, he likes it ๐Ÿ˜Šleft for work before 7 am this morning, didn't start til 8 am! And yes I got up before Bernard to get his brekkie (served in bed!) before he left, lunch packed up and in his bag - am I good or am I good? I spent the day cleaning the house, washed all floors twice, washing out, swept outside driveways and cooked! I'm earning my keep ๐Ÿ˜˜

8 January 2017

Well first full day in Kununarra over! Photos attached - Bernard's beloved saddle chair for work, bit lumpy to check in! A caravan park with Durack restaurant and Swim Beach, an off-shoot of the Ord Dam that Bernard took a dip in and there are CROCS in there ๐ŸŠluckily he never saw one - phew ๐Ÿ˜˜

7 January 2017

Bernard now relaxing - see he has a bottle holder on the arm of his chair ๐Ÿฅ€
We finally arrived on Kununarra this afternoon after a 5 am start! Not like us I know. We came via Darwin, NT and are now settled in our home for the next two weeks, very comfortable accommodation, photos here are if the company jeep we have ๐Ÿค—

6 January 2017

21 December 2016

Pensive after dinner ๐Ÿ˜
Hello ๐Ÿค— we arrived in Tanunda yesterday afternoon and it is spectacular. Tanunda is at the heart of the Barossa Valley, millions of grapevines to the left, right and centre. House we are staying in is beautiful, Honey, the dog, is a real pet. We are twixt and between Jacobs Creek, Penfolds, Yellow Tail and many, many more. Tasting plates and sips to come over the next two weeks. We are finally relaxing, all the travelling and driving has been exhausting but our trusty old 1999 steed has and is serving us well although anyone put looking at us on the road might think we are " The Clampets" - not for the younger readings and please don't call me Dailey May ๐Ÿค“ till later ๐Ÿท๐Ÿท๐Ÿท

20 December 2016

Welcome to my world. We have an hour til check out and Bernard decides he wants to see the sea! So has taken the car - nothing packed up yet, I can't stow kitchen gear etc in car because it has gone walk about! No breaker yet, he hasn't showered and has told me (after a message from Jamie re contagious shingles) that wherever he is walking or sitting. Little hard crustules will fall off of him - yuck I think I'm standing in a pile of them!!!๐Ÿ™€no wonder my hair is falling out ๐Ÿ˜ก

19 December 2016

Understatement. Will visit Doctor tomorrow here before we leave and get script but it's going to be a prettty painful and unpleasant Christmas for Bernard, That's enough now - wiil be back soon ๐Ÿ’จ
Sunset from our beautiful "cabin" in Coorong, SA. Arrived last night after a very long and stressful day! Only 15 mins from where we were staying in Melbourne and TomTom played up. Bernard slammed the brakes on and we had a 30 minute shouting match in the car - stressful isn't strong enough! Almost TEN (10) hours later we arrived - f..k me, what a day. But the place is absolutely beautiful, we are chilled out, enjoyed our complimentary bottle of bubbles, had a BBQ and just relaxing, reading before kip time. I noticed a red mark on Bernard's chest day before last, it has is spread over his chest on and under his side, along his underarm and is now creeping along his back! OK three guesses! GOT IT? My poor Hubbie has "Shingles". It has been very stressful the last few weeks with all the problems at home, which are now thankfully resolved - although we didn't need that hassle!! - and me, well to say U'm tightly coiled is an understate

17 December 2016

A Gondola just going by on the River Yara!
A few more photos, one we couldn't believe - Donald Trump - walking by Bernard๐Ÿ™€OK a ginger lookalike ๐Ÿ˜Š Tomorrow we head another 7 hours towards Adelaide staying 2 nights in a cabin in COORUNG (?) before heading to our house sit in Tanunda on the 20th. Been quite a bit of exhausting travelling for us but great fun ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜

15 December 2016

The lovely girl who fed us ๐Ÿ’–
We came out late for something to eat - 9pm and fooderies shut!!!! All sorts of Christmas parties going on, so we came into a place and part was cut off for a private xmas party. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, we could see the leftover food but couldn't go near it. By this time Bernard was in hunger overdrive and I wasn't far behind - thinking we wouldn't get food I ordered two red wines and some nuts! Then a lovely waitress started to chatting to 'himself' and I mentioned there was nowhere open for good and we could see what was Int he private function, she said go for it! So we took two pork sliders and she brought us more! Happy Crimbo all ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ…
Have arrived in Melbourne after a very long drive! Libel room in an Airbnb apartment in the Docklands, right in the centre of city. Will head out for something to eat and then plan our schedule for tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜

29 November 2016

Evening all, just home after a meal out after surgery. The wagon attached is outside of the pub we were in, the rather long dead croc is over the bar, other two just Marvin, the house cat, chilling with me this afternoon or as they say here "this arvo".

26 November 2016

Evening all ๐Ÿ˜Šyesterday afternoon we went to our friends' for a beautiful roast pork and crackling dinner. Karen is the Office Manager at the Clinic and Malcolm, her husband, is a Prison Officer. Delightful and funny way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon/evening. Bernard is taking his Pilot's exam next weekend - wahooo, will keep you posted.

25 November 2016

Had mr first real belly laugh this morning, Bernard woke suddenly, turned and fell out of bed struggling to catch the bedside lamp and table! His eyes were spinning like marbles harr harr harr๐Ÿ˜‚

18 November 2016

It's been a while, only three weeks left here in Grafton and we're org to the Barossa Valley for two weeks. These 3 months have/are flying by. The Clinic Party at The Crown on Friday was a resounding success. Bernard received much applause for his Santa appearance and more so his Strip tease๐ŸŽ…luckily Saturday was a flying day for Bernard and a grocery shop and prep day for me for our Sunday late lunch soirรฉe yesterday with six guests. Beautiful day, fun company and great roast lamb leg. Much laughter and conversation, great time had by all. Today was my big clean up day as our landlady was away for the weekend and said I could cook up in her place, there isn't a cooker in our little unit. Anyway managed to make her place look the complete opposite of a well used social event phew ๐Ÿ˜… A few photos from Xmas party. Until next time, Hasta la Vista compadres ๐ŸŽ‰

Tomorrow we are of to see An Afternoon at the Proms in the Saracen Theatre - our landlady and Dr from the clinic are playing in it. Hopefully will get a few better pics tomorrow. The Jacaranda trees are magnificent in their Lilac colour snd around the bases is is like a carpet of lilac confetti, a beautiful sight. Hopefully will have more tomorrow, ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค hope you changed your clocks!!!

14 October 2016

G'day peeps ๐Ÿค” now what's been happening? Nothing much, week 4 achieved with no problems, 8 more to go and then it's "Durack Walkabout" time again. After our two week house sit in the Barossa Valley (unfortunately the house we are looking after backs onto a vineyard/winery ๐Ÿท), Bernard has asked for two weeks locum in Kununnara, WA which is in the Kimberly's, 38 km from the Northern Territory. A much longer way than to Tipperary! I digress - this locus is near to the Durack homestead (photos attached) so we are achieving our goal of visiting there this visit which weren't sure we could. Power to sockets just gone as I was boiling eggs for himself. When Bernard gets hungry and if food isn't ready PDQ, he gets pretty nearly, and he is now. Attached are a couple of photos of brekkie being cooked in bedroom ๐Ÿ™€

11 October 2016

Hurried photos if - Amarylis growing as a garden plant; Fig Tree Avenue; Kookaburry; Jacaranda and photo showing huge width of fig tree! Bernard came home from work this evening and has been asked today when he's coming back next year! We're only just into week 4 of 12! We have to sort something for Bernard's 70th next May - want to do something special for z very special man ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’–

8 October 2016

Today Bernard flew solo, forgot to put the flaps up or down, he managed to get up tho!! Afterwards we went to South Grafton Golf Club for a drink and the kangaroos started on the greens, anyway one pixie here, enlarged, so hope you can see it. Biii for now from the travellers ๐Ÿ™€

Hi there, today we drove to Brooms Head, a lovely beach and camping village. The sunset is from the pub in Ulmarra on the way home. Lovely day out ๐Ÿ˜Š
Few typos there, sorry doing this in the dark!

5 October 2016

My cousin Jenny behind the Prime Minister, he groom a selfie on her phone! We're in bed, Bernard sleeping and I just thought of something he told me from the surgery th evening. A week ago he said he needed new sandals so I took him to Athletes Foot a specialist trainer/sandal/shoe shop in Grafton, he bought a pair. So he said to me this evening "the girl that sold me the sandals came into the surgery this afternoon", I asked if he remembered her to which he replied, no but she smiled st me and said "you grave athletes foot, to which he replied after a few seconds "no but I do have a fungal toenail"!!! He's one of a kind - she stayed for the consult ๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜

1 October 2016

Bernard and Helen kayaking on The Clarence today. Beautiful day, tomorrow is the Speedboat/ski day where 50+ speedboats and skiers go 200mph up the river! Dangerous! Til then, it's goodnight from me and goodnight from him ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’‹

25 September 2016

G'day ๐Ÿค— sat her on our little patio (quite warm!) having a G & T waiting for Bernard to come back from flying. A bit of good news today, we have a house sit in the Barossa Valley, SA FROM 21st December til 4th January, a 20 hour drive from here across country but we should do it between us in 3 days. We are then a drive away from WA where Bernard has always wanted to go back to, will fit in a trip to Argyle, the homestead if the pioneering Durack's ๐Ÿ‘€

24 September 2016

Bernard relaxing before bed in my slippers!!! Whatever ๐Ÿ™€
Big lizard ๐Ÿ‰
So it was flying time today! Biggles enjoyed himself. The photo with Andy and the drum is him filling up with fuel, pretty cute gismo, a bit archaic, but does the job. Not long till Bernard flying solo and Andy asked if I would go up with him - gulp! - watch this space! Then out to Ulmurra for a drink on the river. Watched the chain pulled ferry going back and forth, also took photo of large lizard, will add that in a mo. Then of to Grafton Retired Servicemen's club for drink and dinner - nice day. Bernard off for an 11 am flight tomorrow ๐Ÿ›ฉ

23 September 2016

Bernard studying his flight manual thus evening, he's taking to the skies tomorrow. I'll take some photos and post them, night night ๐Ÿ’ค
Sorry a few typos there, big fingers, little keyboard ๐Ÿ™Š
We've just had another Del Boy moment! Bernard has this special coffee with frothy hot milk on it here in the unit ( and I don't mean Psychiatric Unit)! The mill fritter has the tiniest gizmo in the bottom of it which does the frothing. So when wiping it out, didn't realise the gizmo went missing til this morning. Anyway he decides to take the I end of the sink out to see if it went down the plug hole. We drain the bed into a pan, look in I end and no goo, so I said what if I turn the tap on a small it to see if it flushes through. He said ok but get rid of this pan of water first, ok I say and then poured it in the sink while he was bent down there!!!!!! So after we cleaned up the flood and wet ourselves laughing, decided to go through the stinking rubbishy bad I'd thrown on the dustbin and there was the little brighter! Should we really be allowed out on our own ๐Ÿ™€

22 September 2016

Not much been happening. Photo here of beautiful Bottle Brush tree at the Clinic, photo of clinic also.

20 September 2016

Well g'day๐Ÿ™€- not much happening, Bernard into his second day and seems fairly up beat, first day 21 patients and today 25! He has had patients who had been to him before and booked back in with him ๐Ÿ‘ The photos, well, I'm back so cooking for two has sent the kitchen to chaos, what can I say, that's me but the meal was great. Until next time folks, be careful out there ๐Ÿ‘ฎ

19 September 2016

Bernard survived his first day, everyone pleased to see him back. He came home clutching a dozen free range eggs and 3 bottles of home brew!
Good morning๐Ÿค— our first day in Grafton, just gone 8 am and Bernard off on his morning hike to surgery. Weather was wet yesterday but the sun is out this morning ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒด, will check back with you later as the day progresses ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿ™Š

18 September 2016

Photos of the house! With a bit of updating it would be spectacular! We had a good trip to Grafton, arrived about 4pm. At 7.30 up to Helen and Michael fir roast lamb and a lovely evening.
We are up for our drive to Grafton with Michael. A very fine misty rain here, lovely on the balcony. This house (!) we are staying in, Michael is care taking it, is massive. The photos here are of the entrance hall. I'll get a photo of the front when we leave.

17 September 2016

That was lovely ๐Ÿ‘
Breakfast on the terrace in Brisbane courtesy of the wonderful Michael
On board Virgin Australia from Melbourne to Brisbane, last flight of our journey until our drive to Grafton on Sunday. Been a long old trip but we've had some really funny moments, both of us in hysterics. In Abu Dhabi airport we took four wrong turns, me leading, Bernard grumbling. When we were leaving the lounge, decided we'd both go to the loo and had to walk past the dreaded eyebrow, moustache beard plucking salon and the "bird" leapt up from her chair to come out, we belted into the loos! She must have recognised my poor bearded face from last year!!! Never again batman! Landing in half an hour, will catch up soon ๐Ÿค—

15 September 2016

We are at the first leg of our trip "down under", only a few fraught words so far! And one absolutely hysterical moment here in Abu Dhabi airport - nearly lost control of myself, even immigration here were smiling. OK I'll get on with it. We were in the moving escalator walkway having our usual words, I was facing forward and himself facing me leaning on his bags. Bernard didn't realise the walkway was coming to an end, I said give me a laugh and fall! Being. As you know, hard of hearing, he cupped his ear and said "what", then fell arse over backwards, bags and all off the walkway! It was truly a Del Boy moment, remember the one when he fell through the bar??? What a memory ๐Ÿ˜‚
