Carol 's tour through Australia

21 May 2017

Day 131 Sunday 21 May 2017 I am still in my park in Eneabba filling in the time as I need to be in Perth on Thursday to get the MH exhaust fixed and I will get a full service as well. I am going to continue with this app for the time being for want of something better. I went for a bike ride yesterday and now I can say I have met 1/6 of the population. I fear that when I stay tonight, tomorrow they will add me to their census.

Facilities in the Park
Saturday 20 May 2017 Day 130 I am sitting in the Park of Eneabba at $5 per night with shower and toilet facilities waiting to drive south toward Perth to have my Catalic Converter checked next Thursday. It is alarming on the dash and unfortunately, the nearest Fait service centre is in Perth 265 kms south. The population of this town is currently 32! It services a further 350 on farms in the district. The mineral sand mines closed 8 years ago and when these were up and running, the population was 8,000 plus. The mining companies owned all the houses sitting on crown land so when the mines closed, they sold off the homes for a very cheap price but they had to be removed to a new location by the purchaser. As a consequence of these events, the remainder of the population have been left with fantastic facilities. A pool, large civic hall, tennis court, golf club, schools, race track and facilities and a bowels club. They are continuing to be maintained by the locals.
