Breathtaking Myanmar

15 October 2016

Dear friends and family, we are preparing our next trip so you will here from us in a few days. We also wanted to thank you for keeping in touch with us through our blog. It means a lot to us. We hope that you don't get bored with our posts and pictures. We created this blog because we wanted you to be part of this amazing adventure. We also wanted to share every moment with the ones who motivated and supported us during the preparations. You were right! It's crazy, unique, a once in a lifetime adventure but above all, it's a life lesson. ❤️ we love you and miss you❤️

This is what a school looks like in the small villages we visited during our trek. Children aged between 3 and 11 getting lessons from 6 teachers. They have only one big room for the 4 grades.

Trekking through small villages, sleeping on the floor under mosquito nets, going to the toilet with a torch and peeing next to a water buffalo...yep this is Myanmar 😁

Roller coaster train in the hills through maize and rice fields, lush vegetation and pittoresque villages. It took us 7 hours with this old and clumsy train from the former british "hill station" Pyin Oo Lwin to lovely Hsipaw! Hopefully we will find some time to meditate here, surrounded by nature and far from the busy cities! 🚂🚃🚃🚃 🚃🚃

Yep he did it! "Try it's like chicken" the lady said 🐔😂 I'm quite sure she said "Try it, don't be a chicken" 😅 (dino)
Good morning everyone! Today I realized how amazing this country is and why travelling is more than just visiting countries. It's therapy for your mind, your soul and your heart! You don't need to be rich to travel and seek for beauty! You need courage and strength to get out of your comfort zone. Sometimes we miss Luxembourg and our little routine. We took a year off to see how we can deal with being away from it. It's not always easy but waking up and realizing that the world is full of beauty makes everything worth it. 💕

A little description of our school visit. I had to split the text because of its size. We were not allowed to take pictures but I think that Dino's description is good enough to let you imagine how it was ✏️📓😄☀️😂

Yesterday I had my first cooking class with the wonderful Zizi and Grandma! 😍

1 October 2016

Today we went to a village called Khaung Daing. We were invited by a lovely family who showed us how Tofu is made! Dino tried a Tofu salad (twice😜) and it was tofulicous! Tomorrow we will be on a full day boat trip around the lake and the day after tomorrow we're going to visit a local school! 😍 We wish you a good day! ❤️

We left Yangon yesterday evening and headed to Bagan, in the heart of Myanmar. The ancient city is famous for its thousands of tempels spread across the plains and we are looking forward to grab a bicycle and discover the area. In the meantime, here are some pictures of the lively Ma Ni Sithu Market we went to this morning for some souvenirs!

Today it was all about chilling, walking and eating!! Yangon is a paradise for food lovers! In each corner you find something to eat! Sweet potatoes, corn, peas, chicken, fish, pancake, popcorn, fruits, vegetables, cookies, cakes! Food everywhere 🎉😂!

First impression of Myanmar : wow, wow and wow! People are friendly and ready to help if you seem like not finding what you're looking for. Today we visited the Schwedagon Pagoda which is located in Yangon. We also experienced some local food. Let's hope that it will remain in our stomachs. Fingers crossed 😁! Enjoy the pics 😘
