Byebye Philly! Ready for New York! 🗽
We rented a car to stop at a shopping outlet on our way.
30 August 2017
Woke-up early to catch our flight ✈️. Back to the northeast and to a big city. Philly reminded me a little bit of Chicago. We checked-in at the hotel then started our day with the reason why we're here: a Philly cheesesteak sandwich 😋at Cleavers. It was yummy and huge 😂 we decided to walk to help with the digestion and stopped at Logan Circle.
We then spent a few hours at the Pennsylvania Eastern State Penitentiary, the model of many prisons around the world!
Dinner at Jim’s steaks because one phill cheese steak sandwich is not enough 🐷

We started our touristy visit with the historic RCA studio B tour, where Elvis (and others) recorded most of their songs 🕺🏻
Time for lunch ! We went to Hattie B's hot chicken 🍗 recommended by our hotel. We waited in line, it seems it's a very popular place here. Once again we're having fried chicken like real southerners 😂 but Gus was by far better.
After lunch, we walked toward Centennial park to look at the Parthenon before heading back toward downtown, destination Hall of Fame ⭐️
Back to the hotel to plan the rest of the trip.
We decided to go to the outlet and do some shopping before attending the Grand Ole Opry, a must in Nashville. It's the show that made country music famous and the longest running radio broadcast in US history 🎶 what a nice concert ! It was sold out and people were just so happy 😊
Byebye Nashville, see you again one day 🎶

Road trip from Memphis to Nashville.
We stopped along the way in Jackson so the trip took us around 4 hours.
Nashville is a city 😱 we didn't expect that. We thought it would be more like Memphis, a small town. We walked around to the waterfront and explored the city before heading to broadway street where all the bars are at. We chose a more secluded area, on 2nd avenue where the bars seemed less for tourists. Everyone knew everyone, it was such a homie atmosphere and the live band was amazing 🎶 we stayed a few hours then decided to call it a night, I was exhausted 😴

Elvis day ! We went to Graceland, Elvis Presley's home🕺🏻and did the 4-hour tour. We had lunch there, traditional southern BBQ and then decided to try the king's favorite sandwich, PB&B. It was so fatty we couldn't finish half of it 😱
On our way back to downtown Memphis, we stopped at the civil rights museum and followed MLK's last day and his assassination.
Dinner at the Majestic Grille where they have old movies in black and white playing on a huge screen 🎥 where Milad couldn't stop criticizing my decision to add salmon to the Waldorf salad 🥗
Back to downtown to Beale street for some bar hopping on our last night.
Byebye Memphis, it was sweet and a good surprise

We woke-up early and walked around to the White House before heading to the aieport. Destination Memphis 🎶
We started by having lunch at Gus' world famous fried chicken 🍗 to have a taste is real southern food. It was delicious 😋. We ate so much that we could barely walk 😂 we then decided to check-out the city, walked on Beale street, and reached the waterfront. We took a break at the hotel we were exhausted and got ready for the night.
Beale street is closed for pedestrians and people are everywhere. It reminded me of bourbon street in New Orleans. The pubs have live bands that change every few hours and we got to choose between blues 🎶 and rock and roll 🎸 we bar hopped, had good drinks 🍹 and danced 💃🏻 then made a quick stop at Dyers, a burger joint of 1912 🍔 before we decided to call it a night 😴

Milo's parents didn't hear back for their visas so they're not coming. We spent the morning planning the trip and booking hotels. We then headed to old town Alexandria to shop and walk around. It's so peaceful and relaxing 😎 and I love seeing the ducks 🦆 there. Back to D.C for a late lunch at cactus cantina for the best fajitas and frozen margaritas 🍹everyone around us was having dinner at 5pm 😂
Spent the evening in Georgetown with the mandatory pit stop at baked and wired but I'll keep the cupcake for tomorrow' breakfast.
I was too tired and preferred to go sleep early 😴 so milo met Gustave for drinks 🍻
Lazy morning since Milad has to work. I went to Starbucks and got us coffees to help us wake up with the Jetlag.
First stop: Fogo de Chao, Milo's favorite restaurant. Yummy as always 😋 but we couldn't move after it 🙈 we are so much and the waiter offered us a desert that we ate of course 🐽
We headed to the national mall and went to the natural history museum and the African American museum. D.C.'s museums are just amazing no matter how many time we visit them.
We walked toward the reflecting pool, passed by the WWII memorial and took a break in the constitution gardens where Chamise met us.
We drove to Georgetown and walked M street then the waterfront before sitting at Sequoia for a drink and a quick bite 🍹🍸
Back to the hotel to rest before heading to the pop-up bar of game of thrones. The line was over 3 blocks in the afternoon when we tried to go, and now it's half of that 🙈😱 we waited for 1h30 to get in it was ridiculous but what can we do, we happened to be here!

Finally after 3 years I'm back in my city 😍
The trip was long and made me remember the student days 👨🏻🎓and of course all was planned last minute so we packed last night 🙈
The plan isn't set yet, we're still waiting to hear from Milo's family for their visas. But for now, it's D.C.
Dinner with Jackie and Chamise 😊😊 unfortunately Monica is away all week so I won't get to see her. We're going to farmers and distillers since farmers' market doesn't have any availability. Seeing the girls made me so happy 😊 we had so much to catch up on. Jackie is leaving tomorrow for New Orleans to celebrate her 30th birthday 🎉 Chamise would join her Friday so tomorrow she's with us after work. Food was yummy 😋we stayed at the restaurant from 8 till 12 😂
No pics today, I forgot to take any.
Good night D.C. Feels good to be back ❤️
