Saturday, Dec. 30th, 2017 was our downtown Nashville day. We had Brazilian bbq for lunch at Rodezio. Then we walked by the river and Riverside Park. Then we met up with our JoyRide tour at their office on 9th Ave. We had a great tour guide, Ron, who looked a bit like an aging hippy. He was so funny. He was a great driver! It was cool out but so fun. He took us to the Gulch area, showed us Steven Tyler’s building and where he gets Pizza, Taylor Swift’s penthouse, Music Row and all the record company offices and song writers offices, downtown, the streets were buzzing with the Predators playing, Germantown, Marathon Motors area, the State building and site for New Years Eve and so on...we saw so much in 90 minutes. Great tour!!

Dec. 29, 2017: Science centre Day. Learning from the previous day, we arrived earlier and got our parking spot!! Others came later and parked over the curbs in grass. We loved the Planetarium show and also climbing to the very top of the giant jungle gym to see the view of Nashville. We had lunch at the Subway on site.

The kids love loved the swinging bridge at the Zoo! The mall was a hit with Lindsay. She loved the sale at Pink and found two sweaters. I loved Aquarium
Thursday, December 28th, 2017- it was the coldest day today!! Original plans were to go the zoo but then thinking about the cold we decided the science Centre. But we have been staying up too late and even with the one hour time change, we didn’t get to the science Centre until almost 11:30. By then, there was no parking so we decided to go to the zoo after all. Great day at the zoo! We got half price tickets due to cold. The African animals went indoors but we still saw lots of animals: Reptiles, fish, red pandas, meerkats, etc. We ate our lunch indoors at the zoo. We left closer to 5 pm closing and the went to Opry Mills for shopping and supper at Aquarium. So cool!! Lots of steps today and lots of animals!!

Wed. Dec. 27th, 2017: We had a slow relaxing morning before leaving Dayton, Ohio. Lots of little traffics accidents and slow downs through Louisville, Kentucky etc. and then finally into Nashville. Our hotel for the next four nights was the Quality Suites on Elm Hill Pike, near the airport, sort of south East of the Centre of Nashville. Only 10 minutes out if the traffic cooperated. The room had some WiFi problems at times. But the suite sitting area was helpful and it was great to have two TVs. The outdoor pool was closed. Much too cold for that!! Cold spell at home and Nashville too but minus 7 is much better than minus 27. The hotel lobby was very nice and had a big breakfast selection and seating area. Russell enjoyed waffles and using the hotel computer.
Boxing Day, Dec. 26th, 2017 we started our road trip to Nashville. We left around 11 am, and stopped to eat at the Appleby’s in Windsor before crossing the Ambassador bridge into the USA. Windsor was snow covered and quiet. We stayed overnight at the Marriott Springhill Suites in Dayton. Very nice, modern decor.
