Sitting at JFK now about to embark on my trip back to AUS.
Following the night of the BBall we woke up fairly late due to our 3am finish.
Headed to Brekkie at a traditional 'diner' and grab a coffee via the pop up in he park next to our apartment. Good coffee and bob Marley vibes!
Then we walked around LES/SOHO and did a bit of shopping. Went home for a quick pit stop and then went to an amazing rooftop bar @ Public Hotel.
The 360views of Manhattan were indescribable. Here we meet Kaaran and had a few cocktails.
From there we went to 'Sel Rrose' to meet Susie for a couple of drinks - great fun and awesome venue.
Then we headed to dinner @ Beauty & Essex - pawn shop front turned into ultra hip bar restaurant. We had a phenomenal food & wine and debriefed on the week we had just shared.
JR was flying out early so we headed home and had a few beers in our apartment for an early night (1.30am).
Last morning we went to 'Clinton street bakery' which was close and very popular.

After checking out of the Hilton we went to the 'finishers' expo where people get their medals engraved, buy merchandise etc. wasn't worth the trip and the line for engraving was over an hour log.
Moved to our airbnb in SOHO and went straight the bar area for afternoon drinks, Monday night 🏈and buffalo wings!
Tuesday we got up and headed to 'Russ & Daughters' for their famous smoked salmon bagels. I had egg salad instead 😂.
Then to the highline, ground zero and the new Westfield shopping complex. Uber to Vanessa's dumplings then an afternoon nap.
On the way to the basketball Cam had is wallet stolen out of his hand in the subway and we proceeded to chase the guy. Guy got away and we then spent a few hours NYPD including a ride in their squad car.
Basketball was a great experience with the home team Knicks coming from behind to win!
Hooters after the game for beers and wings, then bad to LES bar area for some cool bars including a speakeasy down a couple of little laneways.

Early start to get to the bus from 42nd street to the start at Staten Island. Was awake from 1am until 4am for a 4.30am wake up.
The lines to the buses were huge - 2 hour ride out to the start.
The start was phenomenal with helicopter 'fly-overs', national anthem and then 'New York, New York' playing over the speakers as we started.
The course was challenging but the crowd was something I've never experienced. The course is fully lined the whole way with people cheering/yelling your name.
Highlight was when hitting the Bronx, they had a stage with a rapper who was amazing - too bad it coincided with my legs seizing up.
Running into central park (past the beautiful plaza) in misty rain with non stop cheering alone is worth the trip.
Absolute bucket list item.
To celebrate we went to a sports bar to watch NFL, eat popcorn and debrief from the day. Dinner @ Buddakhan, delicious.

Arrived to hotel at 7pmish - long taxi ride in but with the window down and the balmy weather the bright lights of Manhattan were 👌👌.
Beautiful dinner at 'Scarpetta' in Meatpacking, some of the best Italian I've had and cool vibe.
Tim Horne arrived and the wheels came off, beers until 1am. Whoops!
This morning we walked to the convention centre to check in, pick up bins and buy merchandise. The sheer volume of people is next level.
Off to wholefoods for lunch and supplies for tomorrow.
