Amy's trip to Vail, CO, United States

11 February 2017

Apres spa on a rain stormy day. One skier braved going to Vail and had a great day but was soaked through and there was no visibility. Dinner in the Village at chop house slope side. Hoping for nice soft snow tomorrow🙏🌨⛷
Raining today so spent the day shopping in the village, had crepe and gelato for lunch and then massages at Spa Struck at The Charter. A great day.

After skiing, relaxing at the cabin before going to dinner in the village at Metropolitan, a cool Gastro pub type place.
Day 1 at Beaver Creek ski resort. Skied all morning with rental boots too big, sloshing around. Exchanged boots for .5 size smaller and the afternoon felt better. These pics are of Talon Lodge sheet were had lunch. The last pic is a selfie at the end of s great day. I remembered how to ski and did pretty well but had to stay on intermediate runs/ trouble controlling the skies on the steep parts. But overall a successful reintroduction to the sport. Had a jacuzzi apres ski and relaxing. It was cloudy but warm. Snow is not in great shape, and rain is expected tonight😩

Returned to condo and we still had no water. They fixed it once then it broke again. They fixed it a second time and it seems to be holding. We actually thought we would have to move, rent a hotel room. Terrible drama. But all is well ... For now.
Had dinner at The Blue Plate in Avon, about 10 minutes from Beaver Creek. Cute place, shared tapas of brussel sprouts with cherries, artichokes and friends tempura and chicken skewers with jasmine rice, sole. Fresh baked bread was delicious. Great conversation. Crazy round abouts make driving challenging but no stop lights!
Our cabin, right on the ski mountain! My bunk bed is super squishy... Hope I can move tomorrow.
Arrived at Vail/Eagle airport
Start of the trip. In the lounge just prior to taking of.
