2017 Sundy Road Trip

24 August 2017

On our way home! Sleeping on the road tonight. Turns out the civic air mattress is perfect for rest stops.
Last night we stayed at Blomidon Park, our camp site was located over looking a 600ft cliff down to the ocean below. We spent pur morning searching for treasures and walking trails to see beautiful waterfalls. Would definately come again Blomidon is excellent for anyone who enjoys true hiking!

We made it to Halifax where we beachcombed for treasures at Point Pleasant Park, toured the market then we had to get tattoos as souvenirs obviously. P.s. you cannot top my enthusiasm for sand dollars. Before leaving Halifax we had dinner at the Lower Deck.
Stopped for breakfast this morning on our way to Halifax from King Neptune Campground to figure out our game plan for the day.

⚓🌊 Peggy's Cove Lighthouse was more beautiful than I had even imagined. The waves drowned out the busy sounds of people and its peaceful yet dangerous as waves crash aga8nst the black rocks. Better yet the fog rolled in while we were in the Cove which added an eeriely beautiful feel to the whole experience. Tonight we rest at King Neptune Campground, and tomorrow search for new adventures on our way to Dartmouth.
Hello Nova Scotia! Took a walk in Victoria Park while we decided on our next move. Discovered Chris is really scared of steep heights as he made his way up Jacobs Ladder. 😂 Google maps has now indicated that Tim Hortons is a frequent stop on our travels and even suggested it as a "photo op". Tonight we set up camp at King Neptune Campground.
Hopewell rocks was kinda lame. It was high tide and just too touristy! We decided to ditch the place and used the private shuttle road as a shortcut and when we got in trouble we just jumped the fence into the parking lot. Nova Scotia, lets gooooooo!
This morning we packed up and took one last look at New River Beach. Next stop, Hopewell rocks. 🐳

21 August 2017

Spent the remainder of our time in New River Beach campground cooking up some dinner, pressing fresh coffee and herping the beach for sea creatures one last time! 🐙 Tomorrow, Victoria Park and Scotia Pine Campground! 🚘
The Fundy Trail Parkway is a 49km trail you can drive or choose the footpaths, with plenty of lookouts along the way. We discovered Fuller Falls, a suspension bridge of Big Salmon River & even found $4.50 in sed river. We stopped and cooked lunch while overlooking the beautiful bluffs before heading back to camp for the evening. Today, Chris managed to see not one but TWO snakes and he even absentmindedly stepped on the seconed snake. Possibly my favourite part of the trip thus far.🐍
St. Martin Sea Caves Early birds get the best exploring!🐦 We went for caves and discovered the Fundy Trail Parkway by accident!
Not everything was bad about a 6:45am ADT wakeup. We were the first ones to hit the beach and look for treasures this morning at our campground. Its now 8:20am ADT and were off to find coffee and St.Martin Seacaves.

We made it to New River Beach Campground! A couple beautiful stops along the way to take in the mountainous landscape (and caffinate of course). We only managed to get turned around twice and quickly sorted ourselves back out. We arrived at 9:30pm ADT and quickly got settled in, and are falling asleep to the sounds of the sea. Tomorrow we venture to St. Martin Sea Caves.🐚
Chris slept in, I got off my night shift at 8am, we made the typical first stop of any Canadian road trip at Tim Hortons and by 8:25am we hit the highway! First stop, New River Beach Campground, New Brunswick. Mom, Dad, love my cats while im away.
